Getting Started with Pawtato Land
Pawtato Land runs entirely in the browser — no download, no installation. This guide walks you through your first session, from logging in to your first adventure. For every step there is a detailed page in the official documentation.
1. Open the game
Go to pawtato.gg and log in. You can explore the World Map right away — the game world of Axoma with its starting area around Hearthstead, home to the Guild, Merchant, Healing Well and other key buildings.
2. Get a Land and a Hero
Both collections are fully minted, so new players buy on the secondary market: the in-game Marketplace (no wallet needed) or the official collections on TradePort. All 15,000 Land NFTs were minted on June 21st 2025 and no more will ever be created — a one-time Merge event later reduced the supply further to 5,704 Plots, 776 Estates and 688 Provinces. The limited Hero NFT mint has concluded as well.
3. Stake your Land and claim resources
A staked Land passively produces base resources around the clock — Wood, Stone, Water and more, depending on its traits. Production pauses when a resource's storage fills up, so claim regularly: claiming credits the resources to your in-game balance, clears the storage and even carries a small chance to find an Ultra Rare Resource.
4. Craft your first Tools
Tools are the first thing worth crafting: Production Tools like the Axe, Bucket and Pickaxe boost your Lands' output, the Wheelbarrow expands storage, and processing tools like the Handsaw and Kiln turn base resources into refined materials for advanced recipes. Each craft takes real time and rolls a random rarity — see Crafting and Tools.
5. Send your Hero out
Stake your Hero, equip it via Hero Management (click the Hero portrait in the top-left) and start with low-level encounters on the World Map, daily quests from Paw Paw near Hearthstead, or passive options like Patrol and Assignments. Fights cost Stamina, which refills over 24 hours — more in Adventure & PvP.
New player questions
Do I need a wallet to start playing Pawtato Land?
No — you can log in, explore and buy items on the in-game Marketplace without a wallet. You only connect a Sui wallet when you stake Land or Hero NFTs into the game or withdraw assets back out. Read more in the docs →
How do I get my first Land NFT?
All 15,000 Land NFTs were minted on June 21st 2025 and no more will be created, so you buy one on the secondary market — the in-game Marketplace or TradePort on Sui. Plots, Estates and Provinces are the three sizes available. Read more in the docs →
How do I get my first Hero?
The Hero NFT mint has concluded, so Heroes are bought on the secondary market — the in-game Marketplace or the Pawtato Heroes collection on TradePort. Once staked, a Hero can fight, quest and patrol. Read more in the docs →
Why did my Land stop producing resources?
Each Land only produces a resource until its storage for that resource is full. Claim your resources to clear the storage and resume production, and consider staking a Wheelbarrow tool to expand storage capacity. Read more in the docs →
What should I craft first?
Production Tools that match your Land traits (Axe for Wood, Bucket for Water, Pickaxe for Stone, Coal and Ore) plus a Wheelbarrow for storage. The first Tool blueprints are unlocked for every player. Read more in the docs →
How does my Hero level up?
Experience comes from successful adventures — fights, quests and assignments. When the bar is full, travel to a City or the Temple of Axomamma to complete the level up; higher levels also require materials such as Lesser Essence of Axoma. The maximum Hero level is 20. Read more in the docs →
