Land NFTs: Plots, Estates & Provinces

Land is the productive backbone of Pawtato Land's economy. A record 15,000 Land NFTs were minted on the Sui blockchain on June 21st 2025 — in 1 hour and 17 minutes — and no more will ever be created. Once staked in the game, a Land passively produces resources that feed everything else: crafting, Heroes, buildings and trade. Full details live in the Land NFT documentation.

The three Land sizes

A Plot is the standard 1x1 Land. An Estate is a 2x2 Land with 2x production and 4x storage, and a Province is a 3x3 Land with 3x production and 9x storage. Estates and Provinces additionally hold Influence, offer Building slots and can issue Hero Ascension Quests — while only Plots have a chance to find Ultra Rare Resources when claiming. Estates and Provinces were created in a one-time Merge event (September 24th – October 8th 2025) that reduced the supply to 5,704 Plots, 776 Estates and 688 Provinces; merging is no longer possible.

Traits decide what a Land produces

Every Land carries nine traits: seven resource traits — Wood, Stone, Water, Coal, Iron, Gold and Crystal, each rolled as None, Small, Medium or Large — plus the two environmental traits Sky and Soil, which boost all production additively: Sky ranges from Mint (0%) to Atomic (+100%) and Soil from Brown (0%) to Violet (+75%), so the best combination adds +175%. Crystal is the rarest trait (93.59% of Lands have none), followed by Gold and Iron, while every Land has at least Small Wood and Stone. Mushrooms are a bonus resource unlocked by equipping a Foraging Knife tool.

Storage and claiming

Each Land has a base storage capacity per resource (for example 1.00 for Wood, Stone and Water down to 0.05 for Crystal) — production pauses when storage is full. Claiming credits the resources to your in-game balance and clears the storage; the resources exist as native tokens on Sui and can be withdrawn to your wallet. A staked Wheelbarrow expands storage so you can claim less often.

Staking, Tools and Influence

You can stake up to 50 Lands per transaction; unstaking starts a 3-day cooldown before the NFT returns to your wallet. Staked Lands unlock Tool slots — a Plot grants 3 Production and 6 Miscellaneous slots, an Estate raises that to 6/9 and a Province to 6/12 (maximums don't stack across Lands). Estates and Provinces also accumulate Influence from World Quests, patrols and Tribal Conflicts, and your "Representing Land" decides which Tribe you fight for.
