TATO: The Token Powering Pawtato Land
TATO is the base currency of the Pawtato ecosystem, connecting the DeFi and gaming layers. It has a fixed maximum supply of 1,000,000,000 (1B) with no additional emissions, combined with ongoing token burns for a deflationary supply over time. The authoritative reference is the official tokenomics documentation — including the exact token addresses on Sui and Solana (beware of fake tokens; always verify the address against the docs).
What TATO does in the game
Pawtato Land denominates all payments, quest rewards and marketplace prices in TATO. You use it on the in-game Marketplace (Bazaar) and Orderbook Exchange to trade Lands, Heroes, Equipment and every other item — see Marketplace & Exchange. TATO also pays for services like equipment repairs, extra Dungeon attempts, upgrade donations at the Temple of Axomamma and Bank of Axoma Powerups. In-game TATO can be swapped and converted to USDC via a liquidity pool.
xTATO: staking and revenue share
Locking TATO yields xTATO, a soul-bound, non-transferable staking token. xTATO holders unlock in-game utilities, earn a share (25%) of all Pawtato Land gameplay transaction fees, get reduced fees and premium features on Pawtato Board, hold governance power and take part in airdrop raffles. Staking works both in-game (at the Bank of Axoma) and on-chain — see TATO Staking and xTATO Revenue Share.
Deflationary design
A portion of gameplay fees flows into buyback-and-burn, and several in-game sinks consume TATO permanently. Together with the fixed supply, this is designed to make TATO scarcer as the game economy grows — the mechanics are detailed under Deflationary System.
How players earn TATO
Playing the game: selling resources, crafted items, equipment and NFTs on the Marketplace and Exchange, quest rewards, winning Arena wagers, and more. Everything you produce with Lands or earn with Heroes can be turned into TATO through the in-game economy.
Token questions
What is the TATO token?
TATO is the base currency of the Pawtato ecosystem on the Sui blockchain (also bridged to Solana via Wormhole). It has a fixed maximum supply of 1 billion with no additional emissions, and all Pawtato Land payments, rewards and marketplace prices are denominated in it. Read more in the docs →
What is xTATO?
xTATO is the soul-bound, non-transferable token received for locking TATO. Holders earn 25% of all Pawtato Land gameplay transaction fees, unlock in-game utilities and premium features, hold governance power and join airdrop raffles. Read more in the docs →
Do I need a wallet to use TATO in the game?
No — the game keeps an in-game TATO balance you can earn and spend without a wallet, and TATO can even be staked in-game at the Bank of Axoma. A Sui wallet is only needed to deposit or withdraw tokens on-chain. Read more in the docs →
Is TATO inflationary?
No — the supply is fixed at 1 billion with no emissions, and buyback-and-burn plus in-game sinks steadily remove tokens, making the design deflationary over time. Read more in the docs →
Where can I trade TATO?
In-game on the Orderbook Exchange (TATO can be converted to USDC via a liquidity pool), and on-chain on Sui DEXes. The official token addresses are listed in the tokenomics documentation — always verify them, as fake TATO tokens exist. Read more in the docs →
